Quick trip to Washington D.C. to speak at a summit for an aerospace defense company 🤓 and challenged myself to step out of my comfort zone - in a unique way:

After an intense week of speaker prep, little sleep and cross country travel, the morning after my keynote (day of my return flight) I was depleted. What I WANTED to do was sleep-in, go to airport, get home… minimal exertion.

But, the only time I had been to D.C. was around 14yrs old, with family, on one of those… ya know, LET’S SEE ALLLLL the educational sights, statutes, museums, historic sh**, and walk 50,000 bajillion miles around the city until the blisters render you paralyzed (not every teenage girl’s dream trip).

With exactly a 3hr window before needing to be at the airport, I sat on my hotel bed, humming and hawing over the effort it would take to Uber into the city and then drag my luggage around (in 85°/29° weather), in order to see a some historic monuments.

I didn’t know how close an Uber could drop me off to the sites I wanted to see. Didn’t pack appropriate walking shoes. Didn’t know if there’d be a lot of stairs with luggage in-tow. And honestly, my ego didn’t want people looking at the weird girl who brought her suitcase and two large bags to go sightseeing. What would they think? I was lost? Homeless? Dumb?

Fear of the uncertain held me back. How often do “what-ifs” inform YOUR own decision-making?

I WANTED to be lazy, but I CHALLENGED myself to value the opportunity I was given and embrace the present. “Who knows if I’ll ever be back here again. Do not take this moment for granted. So what if it takes some extra effort and is inconvenient?”

Get comfortable with being uncomfortable… and uncertain.

I made a conscious choice to step out of my comfy zone and CARPE DIEM D.C. - baggage, ballet flats, BO and all!

I did not expect this 🙄 when walking through the Korean War Veteran Memorial in Washington DC.

Who is someone that changed the trajectory of your life?

Tanning up for the Caribbean Poker Series / Moneymaker Main 🏝️T-minus 72hrs until poker, pool parties, piña colada’s… this is shaping up to be my fav tourney series of the year 😎

After 10hrs of play, made the final table of the World Series of Poker Circuit $250 Ladies tournament ♠️ finishing 5th of 155 players.

Went into the FT with 25 big blinds, chipped up to 36bb, then went card dead 😒

Mulling over a couple significant hands from the FT and feeling like I need to do some more studying on short handed final table play:

AT from UTG vs chip leader JJ on AJQ➡️3➡️T, took about half stack with 6 or 7 left.

And then, 13bb button shove with KJ suited at 5handed.
